Website Honoring James K. Mitchell, D.GE, Launches |
Geoengineer.org along with support from the Shamsher Prakash Foundation announces the launch of the James K. Mitchell Legacy website. The site is a resource center devoted to honoring Professor Jim Mitchell, Sc.D., PE, D.GE, NAE, NAS, Dist.M.ASCE, and his remarkable and extensive career at the University of California at Berkeley and Virginia Tech. The website contains his biography, photos, publications all related to his career in the geotechnical engineering profession.
Along with the above-mentioned items, the website includes testimonials from some of his 75 PhD students and several of his colleagues. The website will be dynamic with continual updates as more information is provided and donated.
If you have any resources related to Professor Mitchell’s career, you are encouraged to submit them to Geoengineer.org. It will serve as a historical record of this pioneer of the geotechnical engineering profession.
Earlier this year, the Academy was honored that both Professor Mitchell and Professor J. Michael Duncan accepted invitations to join the Academy as Diplomates.
