Call for Papers

28th Central Pennsylvania Geotechnical Conference
Hershey, Pennsylvania
November 4 – 6, 2015

The 28th Central Pennsylvania Geotechnical Conference is issuing a “Call for Papers” focusing on Challenges and Advances in Geotechnical Engineering. Of particular interest are papers related to Regional Projects and the following list of topics:
 

  • Foundation Re-Use, Rehabilitation and Repair
  • Geotechnical Challenges in Modifications to the Existing Built Environment
  • Risk Analysis, including Potential Failure Modes Analysis
  • Stability & Performance of Slopes and Embankments, including Repair of Failed Slopes
  • Design & Construction of Deep Foundations, including LRFD
  • Dams and Levee Design and Remediation Challenges
  • Excavation Support Design & Construction
  • Infrastructure: Highway, Rail, Transit and Utilities


Key Dates:

October 24, 2014: Abstracts due – 300 to 500 words (max. 1 typewritten page).

November 24, 2014: Notification of accepted papers.

August 17, 2015: Draft paper and presentation due.

September 21, 2015: Final papers due.

November 4 - 6, 2015: Attendance & Presentation at Conference.
 

Authors of accepted abstracts will be required to provide an advance draft copy of their paper and presentation by August 17, 2015 AND to submit electronic versions of written final papers for inclusion in the proceedings (issued electronically to all attendees) by September 21, 2015. Authors of accepted abstracts will also be expected to prepare and give a presentation of their paper at the Conference in Hershey, PA from November 4 – 6, 2015.
