The three founding sister societies are ISSMGE (International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering), IAEG (International Association for Engineering Geology) and ISRM (International Society for Rock Mechanics). More recently IGS (The International Geosynthetics Society) joined the group and others are being invited to join.
