Alfonso Soto, PE, D.GE, F.ASCE was recently named as a principal of Terracon, a leading provider of environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials services.  The Principal's Program of Terracon recognizes employees and gives rewards and opportunities to those who have distinguished themselves by their strong leadership and contributions to the success of Terracon.

Soto is a native of Venezuela and earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Universidad Rafael Urdaneta and a Master of Engineering degree from Texas A&M University.  He has over 30 years of international experience in geotechnical engineering and has proven to be an expert in the industry.  He is a fellow of ASCE in addition to being a Diplomate.  

Soto joined Terracon in 2001 where he was a senior project manager for geotechnical services in the San Antonio office.  Next he was promoted to department manager in 2006.  He is based in Pharr and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
