Robert L. Price, Jr., PE is the Chief Engineer at Summit Engineering, Laboratory and Testing (A Universal Engineering Sciences Company) in Charlotte, North Carolina specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, laboratory testing, environmental engineering, and structural engineering. After serving 4 years in the United States Coast Guard Rob received his BSCE degree from Florida State University. For about 5 years worked as a Staff Engineer at Southern Earth Sciences in Panama City, Florida before relocating to the Carolinas. While working full-time as a Geotechnical Project Engineer at F&ME Consultants in Columbia, South Carolina, he received his MECE degree with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 6 states. He is currently an adjunct professor teaching Geotechnical Engineering II at The University of North Carolina-Charlotte for the last year. He has 17 years of experience performing foundation designs for single and multi-family structures, parking garages, commercial and industrial structures, telecommunication towers, athletic facilities, military facilities, public schools, college and university facilities. Project management includes roadway pavement designs, geophysical investigations, video and laser profiling pipe culverts, and forensic investigations for evaluation of foundations settlement, slope stability, and retaining wall failures. Robert also serves on the ASCE North Carolina Southern Branch Board of Directors since 2015.
