Matthew Meyer is a Professional Engineer with about 25 years of geotechnical engineering experience and is a Board Certified Diplomate Geotechnical Engineer by the Academy of Geo‐Professionals. Matt is a Principal/Vice President with Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc., a multi‐discipline, civil engineering, environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering firm. Matt has a B.S. in civil engineering from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and an M.S. in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He served as the president of the Miami‐Dade branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers from 2002 to 2003. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Florida International University. He is a past chair of the Deep Foundation Institute’s (DFI) Augered Cast‐in‐Place Pile (ACIP) Committee and is the current trustee liaison to the soil mixing committee and the industry‐wide working platform working group. Matt is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2002 Miami‐Dade branch Young Engineer‐of‐the‐year award, the 2004 Florida Section of ASCE young‐engineer‐of‐the‐year award, the 2011 ENR southeast’s top 20 under 40 award, and the 2018 DFI president’s award. Matt has presented at numerous conferences and authored and co‐authored papers, which have been published in various journals and conference proceedings.
