Joseph Lifrieri

Dr. Lifrieri has more than 50 years of applied geotechnical, geological, geohydrological and geoenvironmental experience as Managing Principal, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Engineering Geologist, and Geo‐hydrologist on a variety of projects.  Dr. Lifrieri has two Baccalaureate degrees, one in Geology and one in Civil Engineering, both from the City College of New York.  He has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering, both from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was a Partner in a major New Jersey Consulting Engineering Design firm for more than 20 years. Recently, Dr. Lifrieri has been providing expert testimony, forensic engineering and foundation studies for multiple clients, insurance companies and attorneys and participated in forensic studies of geotechnical related issues, cost recovery and responsibility allocation studies of construction defect claims, existing pollution issues, and analyses of existing soil and rock slopes. Dr. Lifrieri has been named “Expert for the Court” for the New Jersey Superior Court acting as an independent reviewer of geotechnical and environmental related issues. Dr. Lifrieri also instructs as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
