Guy F. Marcozzi, P.E. is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering (with a focus on Structural Engineering) in 1985 and his Master of Civil Engineering (with a focus on Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering) in 1988. Guy formerly served as an Adjunct Professor in Engineering, on the University’s Engineering Advisory Council and is presently honored to serve on its Board of Trustees.

His engineering career began in 1984 as a construction/drafting technician at Duffield Associates. Following graduation, he continued with the firm, evolving his position through the years as a structural engineer, geotechnical engineer, civil engineer, project manager and division leader for the Geotechnical, Construction and Water Resources divisions. In 1994, he became a partner in the firm, and in 2000 was named Vice President /Director of Operations. In 2008, Guy was promoted to President of Duffield Associates and became Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Since then, the firm has doubled in size with industry leading metrics.

Guy is nationally recognized as an ASCE Fellow for his contributions to the profession and serves as a Director for the Geoprofessional Business Association.  He was honored by the Delaware Council of Engineering Societies as the first Delaware Young Engineer of the Year in 2000 and subsequently, Delaware’s Engineer of the Year in 2012.

Throughout his career, Guy has been an active participant in many Delaware engineering organizations and has remained continuously active in his community, serving on a number of commissions and public boards and in leadership roles in a number of charities including the American Heart Association and Multiplying Good.
