Ed Ulrich’s career began in 1967, when he worked as a part-time field engineer in
Atlanta, GA, helping with foundation projects to pay future wedding bills. In 1969,
he graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and
concentrations in George Sowers Foundations, structures, and surveying. After one
year as a construction engineer, he entered the University of Illinois at Urbana-

Jose N. Gómez, S. is Vice President / Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Director of Geotechnical Services for ECS Florida, LLC. After graduating from Javeriana University in Bogotá D.C., Colombia with a Civil Engineering degree in March, 1980, Jose came to the United States to learn English and to pursue higher education in the field of Civil Engineering. Jose earned a Master of Science Degree with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1983 and he returned to his native country to continue his professional career with Ingetec S.A.
